Fishing Trip Turns Epic
Hello this is Capt Robert Miley, I’m just now leaving Slims Fish Camp, I had a full day of fishing with Ben he is a sophomore in high school just he and I and we had an epic day. It started off like it was gonna be a real bad day black clouds came in, it rained for a little bit then it got flat calm and nothing was really happening. Earlier in the morning we caught a few up to 5 pounds and then we caught some big catfish. After lunch we went back out to one spot out in pelican bay and it was epic for 1 full hour we went through 3 dozen shiners and we had 5 at a time we put 5 poles in the water and they were going and we did that 4 times and i told the young man nope we’re going down to 2 poles that was too much work we had a Chinese fire drill going im mean the fish were biting, we were losing fish, the drags were screaming, we were trying to figure out which was which it was so much fun, I hope to have him back again next year, and for all your freshwater fishing adventures go to BassOnline this is Capt Robert Miley, creating memories one fish at a time.

Back Side Of The Moon Phase On Lake Okeechobee
This is Capt Mark Shepard, and this is your Lake Okeechobee fishing report. Well folks over the past week we have put a lot of fish in the boat and posted them on Facebook, and let me tell you what the numbers are great, some really beautiful quality fish. Just one adventure after another, but it’s starting to happen, We’re starting to see the water coming down on Lake Okeechobee. Which is a huge plus for the artificial bite, and we have had some fantastic days doing some artificial, little bit on the backside of the moon right now, but still catching some good quality fish, but within this next moon Phase we will start seeing more and more bluegill push into the shallows around which can make the female bass very very defensive so the artificial is going get better and better and better its getting to be my favorite time of year, getting a lot of top water bites now water temperature just been real nice and stable just all together fantastic week and looking forward to our next adventure out there on the water. It’s going to get better and better. this is Capt Mark Shepard don’t miss out on this place.
Lake Okeechobee the largest Lake in Florida is actually quite shallow with an average of about 9 feet, it is world famous for its largemouth Bass, and it is also home to a few other species of fish, most notable are the catfish which are fished commercially and the Black Crappie a highly sought after panfish, Lake Okeechobee has a diverse ecosystem, and each day on the water is a different adventure, from fishing the canals and along the walls to fishing the flats which are filled with flora that provides shelter for quite a few species, wild shiners are the main bait of choice while fishing for Bass, farm raised shiners work also, but due to the fact that farm shiners do not act like prey they will not illicit a predatory response, bass will still eat them, just not as much. now why does this happen, when you look at the bite behavior of bass you will see they typically have a few reasons to bite: hunger, territory, and instinct, now if the bass is not hungry but you toss a bait in its self defined territory it will still hit the bait, also if your bait is able to mimic a injured prey species it will also it it even if not hungry but if the bass is hungry the bait is in its territory and it can illicit an instinctual predatory response well you have the trifecta of of a good bite.

Wind was blowing really really hard, but then it started to lay down get a little bit warmer well slid out to one of my areas, and we put the hammer down on them and caught some monsters beautiful fish great numbers. We had to work for them at the first, but ended up with the big wow factor. I’m telling you what we just put big fish after big fish in the boat lot of fun my favorite time of the years coming. And we just had another big cold front coming through Hopefully this week is going to kind of fade out and don’t know but hopefully it’s the last big cold front this season, but I’ll tell you what we got lot of good stuff coming cause these spawns on Lake Okeechobee never stop this is Captain Mark Shepard if you’re in Florida you better check this place out.
Bass Fishing Father And Daughter Team On Okeechobee
How’s everybody doing this is Capt Brian Brown with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report. Today we are down on the south end of the lake out of Slims Fish camp, and I was joined by Tim and his Daughter Maddy. We went out and enjoyed a beautiful 6 hours this morning out on the water, the weather was a little cool to start with and man we had a heavy northeast wind blowing, the weather channel said 7 to 9 miles an hour and it was more like 27 to 30 mile an hour range but we managed to find a couple spots out of the wind. We hunkered down with some shiners, and we had a pretty successful day out there, each caught a decent fish. Tim caught a 4 1/2 pounder and Maddy had herself a nice 5 1/2 pound fish. everybody enjoyed the day we caught a bunch of other fish along with those. we even had a turtle in the boat, we thought we had a big giant one on until we got it up, it was interesting kind of had a multi-species day but it was great to see a father and daughter bond together out on the water, and enjoy each others company and to be part of that. If you have kids, and just want to get out on the water, and do some family bonding its a great thing to do and it creates some awesome memories, if your looking to come down and get a child involved in fishing we can certainly set you guys up and hopefully get you guys a trip of a life time, get a hold of us here at Bassonline and tight lines until next time this is Capt Brian Brown looking to stretch a line with you.
Family Bass Fishing Trip On the Big O
How’s everybody doing this is Captain Brian Brown with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report today I was out of the south end of the lake and I was joined by Tom his sons Thomas Andrew and daughter Sophia we went out then got some shiners and we headed out and and checked kind of a little spot that I figured We’d be able to find some fish to catch, with kids that age you want to make sure they’re kind of start catching fish right off the bat. Tom got the first one to get everybody started, a nice solid 3 and a half pound fish and we kind of picked away at them there, Sophia caught herself a big five pounder and she got that in and she was just beside herself, and that was the highlight of the trip getting that fish for the youngest one there. she really enjoyed that they all liked seeing her catch it and Sophia wasn’t done though and went on to catch Quite a few fish today, and tom he had a 6 pounder to top the day off right before we got a bunch of rain move in but it was a great time to see the kids have some great memories and see the father bond with their kids, and it was just a blast to see and and spend some time with them and watch a fun family time together on the water so it’s not all about competition out there. It’s not all about the hustle and bustle and what not, it’s just about making memories and they did a great great job at that today, and any families out there just looking to get away and enjoy some time together and just enjoy some fun time on the water get a hold of us here at bass online, and we can get you set up and get you a trip of a lifetime out there and share some great memories and until next time this is captain Brian brown looking to stretch a line with you.
